ABOUT US

Based in the bustling artistic hub of Hong Kong, the Foundation for Art and Culture is a non-profit organisation co-founded by Arthur de Villepin and Dominique de Villepin. We operate as a driving force in the realm of culture exchanges, aiming to bridge the gap between East and West and foster international cooperation, in particular through cross-cultural projects.

The Foundation was established in response to growing demand from Asian art institutions for more diversity in exhibition offerings, notably through collaboration with their Western counterparts. We aim to facilitate the sharing of expertise and provide development opportunities for international institutions eager to engage with Asia.

A task force comprising influential and well-connected art professionals is committed to fulfilling the Foundation’s vision and mission. In the meantime, the Foundation will no doubt benefit from the guidance by an international advisory board of recognised and influential figures, as well as from the experience of an expert committee, consisting of members from renowned cultural institutions. To further enhance its expertise and capabilities, the Foundation has forged an exclusive partnership with Manifesto, a prestigious arts and culture consultancy.

The Foundation for Art and Culture functions both as a hub of new opportunities for partners willing to share best practices and offer impactful collective initiatives, and also as a networking platform to facilitate meaningful exchanges.

OUR MISSION & VISION

In a world facing economic, environmental, and technological transitions, art and culture have a significant role to play in encouraging a spirit of dialogue and cooperation. It is our genuinely held belief that they have the power to inspire, challenge, and transform individuals, and also to bring communities together.

Following recent developments in the art sector, cultural institutions are increasingly aware of the need for a global approach. In Asia, we take note of the growing demand for culture, in the form of ever more ambitious and diverse exhibitions. The Foundation undertakes to respond to this new situation by promoting international cooperation.

The Foundation strives to provide comprehensive services to support the Asian art industry and its development through resource sharing, networking opportunities, and professional guidance. As we nurture a thriving ecosystem that fosters inclusivity and inspiration, all stakeholders are empowered to contribute to the growth and vibrancy of the art and cultural community in Asia.

TECHNOLOGY, SUSTAINABILITY & EDUCATION

In all our endeavors, we are committed to integrating new technologies that are reshaping the world of culture, such as immersive exhibition and virtual reality experience, brought about by our tech partners – Luminiscence from Europe and Temple of Light from Asia. The Foundation promotes responsible evolution in the art and culture scene in Asia, adopting sustainable practices in organising all events and exhibitions. Last but not least, we undertake to meet the need for art education and relevant training, thereby paving the way to new vocations and specialised careers for future generations.
